What you need to know about the characters of The Weekly Impulse.
Rick’s abilities and intelligence could have gained him a job at any paper, but he refuses to
limit himself to stories of tax cuts and minor corporate scandals
when Bigfoot is running around and aliens are going wild in Arkansas.

Wendell Williams: Owner, Editor, and Founder of The Weekly Impulse.
No one is quite sure how old he is. Because he sometimes reminisces about thing that happened as long as a 100 years ago, but he looks like he’s
in his mid forties. Wendell is all about his beloved paper. To him there must always be a story. He is very wealthy , so he doesn’t care too much
about paper sales or advertising, but he feels that the weird stories of the world must be told.
He respects Rick and enjoys his company, but also isn’t afraid to bully him if the need arises. Wendell has seen everything, been everywhere, and almost nothing surprises him. In other words, he’s the perfect editor.

IRIS: Impulse Research Information System
The Impulse’s computer network but everyone just calls her Iris. She is alive, as far as the term applies. The rumor is that Wendell salvaged her from a
crashed alien spacecraft and hooked up her hard drive to the company’s computer system. She is a hard working computer and
she’s perfect for doing web
research.
No one knows exactly how old she is or what planet she’s from, and Iris isn’t telling.
She likes Rick and does everything she can to help him. She kind of wishes she could be more of a friend then a computer research tool, but she is content to help Rick get out of dangerous situations.

Sophie Turner: The Competition
Sophie Works for the Tribune Chronicle, one of the most widely respected and successful newspapers in the world. She’s a career woman, strong, independent,
and all the other adjectives that apply to a woman who has succeeded on her merits. She studied journalism in the same class as Rick. She can’t stand the fact that
he threw away a promising journalism career to work at the Impulse. She has come to the conclusion that either Rick is simply a lazy liar, or a complete lunatic.
She can’t stand him and believes he stands for everything wrong with journalism.
Rick stops by her office from time to time to see if she has any story leads for him. Usually she just gives him stories that she would never investigate in a million years just to get him to go away. She’s attractive but usually wears clothes that don’t catch the eye, she doesn’t want to be accused of succeeding based on her looks alone.

Bud Barnes: Rick’s Source
A skinny jittery man with a cup of coffee in his hand, he has prematurely grey hair.
He has a story to tell and Rick’s gonna listen.
Dr. Farnin: Mad Scientist
A brilliant Scientist who for some reason decided to pack up his beakers and start a pharmacy in Theremin Falls. He’s up to something, but What? What?!
